Chronicles of a Late-Blooming Child Prodigy

I'm an unrelenting aficionado of Chess, Toastmasters and acoustic music (Celtic and Bluegrass--Turquoisegrass?). Audio and Video Blogging gives my visitors a chance to hear and see my triumvirate of interests in action. Cheers! --GT

My recurring illusions of grandeur: (1) winning a state-level chess tournament, (2) winning the World Championship of Public Speaking, and (3) playing Flight of the Bumblebee on the guitar at the Annual Flatpicking Championship in Winfield, Kansas. Until then, I'll relish all three pursuits with the enthusiasm and fearlessness of a late-blooming child prodigy. :)

Monterey Irish Sessions

Thank goodness, the Monterey Irish Session scene is alive and well.

Heading to a new locale and finding folks who dig acoustic music as much (if not more) than I do is very encouraging. The "3rd Sunday Session" at Santa Cruz and the "4th Thursday" jam in Monterey spoke the same acoustic language as my friends up in Olympia, Washington. Anybody wanting to learn this particular musical idiom has plenty of resources to draw upon.

And now, back to my homework. :)

Glenn, t'was great prowling Monterey and her enchanting environs with you, packing away some righteous pizza at Gianni's and generally catching up on things. I noticed in this link you provided that there is a session at Duffy's Tavern. That's the one right outside the Presidio's High street gate (up the Franklin street hill, right just before the steepest part). Try the Presidio Burger and their pepper sauce on your fries. Goes well with pickin' and fiddlin' or anythin' else for that matter!
